Al Mukalla is a main sea port and the capital city of the Hadhramaut coastal region inYemen in the southern part of Arabia on the Gulf of Aden close to the Arabian Sea. It is located 480 km (300 mi) east of Aden and is the most important port in the Governorate of Hadramaut, the largest governorate in Yemen. Al Mukalla is the fifth largest city in Yemen with a population of approximately 300,000. The city is served by the nearby Riyan Airport.

Aden is a port city in Yemen, located by the eastern approach to the Red Sea (the Gulf of Aden), some 170 kilometres (110 mi) east of Bab-el-Mandeb. Its population is approximately 800,000 people. Aden’s ancient, natural harbour lies in the crater of a dormant volcano which now forms a peninsula, joined to the mainland by a low isthmus. This harbour, Front Bay, was first used by the ancient Kingdom of Awsan between the 5th and 7th centuries BC. The modern harbour is on the other side of the peninsula. Aden gives its name to the Gulf of Aden.

Sieyun is a city in the Hadhramaut region, in the Hadhramaut Governorate, of Yemen. The most prominent landmark in the cityscape and surrounding plain is the tall and large Seiyun Palace of the Sultan of Kathiri, built in 1920s. As of 2006 the city’s population was 75,700.
